Hi All.

I've been running LRTimelapse (3.2.1) / Lightroom (5.3) a number of times on the same sequence of images, trying different settings, etc.

Does either LRTimelapse or Lightroom affect the image at all? When LRT or LR open a jpg file to write metadata, do they uncompress and then recompress the image?

No, the images are not touched at all. Only the metadata.
