DslrDashboard and Nikon D5300 internal WiFi

Offline

Hi Zoltan,
just wanted to report that I couldn't get DslrDashboard to work with the new internal WiFi of the Nikon D5300.
I even tried to long press the Wu1a/1b button and enter the IP address.
The internal adapter identifies himself as Nikon_WU2_xxxx

Maybe you have an idea or could get your hands on a D5300 to check this. Would be really nice to get it going. Let me know if there is anything I can test to support you.

Does it work with the Nikon WMU?
Can you do the Wire Shark capture that you did for the 6D ?

Yes it works with WMU, I've just sent you the WiFi capture file via email. Fingers crossed!

Yep, seams the protocol is same as with WU-1a/1b.
I would also need the USB productId. You can check it in Windows after connecting with USB to your PC.

works more or less with my Nexus 7 and the nikon 5300.
i have to try multiple times with the Wlan on nexus until it get's connected.
then when I switch to the dsrldashboard it connects to the camera.
BUT as soon as I push the live view button on the menu (dslrdashboard) the app crashes.

Live view will not work as the D5300 LV handling isn't added yet. (D610 also)

Hi Gwegner, hi Zoltan ! Thanks you both for your great work.
My old camera has just died and I'm about to buy a new one.
As I'm into lightpainting, hdr and now timelapse (thanks for the free 400 version, I'll buy it soon), I NEED dslrdashboard !
So for my future camera I need WIFI, and the D5300 looks like a good option with it's internal WIFI.
So my question is simple, is the internal wifi of the Nikon D5300 will work with DSLRDashboard without issues today ?
Thanks in advance !

Can anyone tell me how to get this working? My main is to set and increase the timer and control shutter speed.

I have a D5300 camera and the WMU app is just not good enough.
My phone is a HTC One M7

Updated:

2mins after posting and it started working. Never mind guys.
