Ok, I've done it, pulled the trigger on a new 64bit machine with a lot of RAM and internal storage.

Now which version of LR do I use?

I joined the Adobe Cloud so I can access LR5 right now. But I probably could go back to LR4 if that's a more compatible platform with LRT.

On my 32 bit machine I was battling away with LR3... no reason to go back there me thinks.

Any thoughts?
