I am joining Gunther and others in May for the Astro La Palma workshop in Spain's Canary Islands. I'll be taking a lot of equipment that I haven't insured.

Anyone have a suggestion for insurance? I will be in Spain a week and then Slovakia for three weeks.

I don't know how important it is and what the risks are. For example, is crime and theft the main reason for insurance or having it lost by the airlines? I have heard horror stories in some countries about thief, I'm not sure about my personal safety or my equipment safety in Spain and Slovakia.

I don't think you could have any insurance at your country without the receipts of your buying.
I don't think there's should be many risks there, I have also a lot of stuff and went in more hazard countries without have any problems.
It always depends on how you hide your stuff :-)
