Skip in Rendered Video Output

Offline
#1 nworker
I used my gopro and an eggtimer to create a time lapse of Yosemite valley earlier this week. The workflow was uneventful, but I ran into a problem with the rendering. There is a skip along the way and the video jumps significantly in the middle.

Here is a link to a low resolution version:

http://www.hankwright.com/time-lapse/h1B...#h1b8c5a11

All of the files are in the right place.

I used FastPictureViewer to run through the images to make sure they looked good and that none of the images are missing, in the wrong order, or corrupted.

The LRT viewer runs through the sequence without problems.

The rendering seems to hang momentarily on 114 during the rendering process.

In looking a the LTR log file:

Please send the content of this log-file to support@lrtimelapse.com if you experience any problems.

I get the same result using different render settings.

I rerendered the images in LR with the same result. I'm not sure what the error means or what problem is.

Most probably your sequence has different crop sizes, please see: http://forum.lrtimelapse.com/Thread-export-not-working

Gunther,

Thank you for the reply.

I checked the settings in LRT and verified ffmpeg64.exe as the encoder.

I have not animated the crop as in previous conversations you recommended against using LR to change crop factors across the sequence. In this sequence, I changed the crop rotation across the entire sequence to level the image.

Right now, LR is rendering another sequence.

When it gets done, I'll double check to make sure the crop is consistent across the sequence. I'll select one of the images and then synchronize the Crop:Straighten Angle and Crop:Aspect Ratio across all the images. Let me know if that is not the correct approach.

Cheers,

Hank

Yes, just to be on the safe side. You might as well equilize the crop in LRTimelapse by right clicking on one of the crop column headers in the table and selecting "Fill down" for the column. Then save and reload Metadata in LR (all images, from Grid View). This might be more accurate since Lightroom sometimes misses frames when synchronizing.

Okay that worked.

And I learned something new: using the LRT UI to fill in the columns. I'll post the updated video once it is done rendering with exposure correction. I have always been frustrated with Bridge and LR when it comes to synchronization. Although LR is more consistent, I have had cases where changes are not made across the entire sequence.

Thanks for your prompt help. I hope all is well in your part of the world...

Glad it worked. Yes, applying settings and syncing in LR might be very inconsistent. LRTimelapse does a perfect job there and it's faster, so preferrably use that.
Best
