Two gear questions

Offline
#1 snapzilla
I'm just getting into timelapse. I'm practising at home before venturing out to locations. But ultimately I aspire to Holy Grail with slider etc. I want to be assured I'm going down a road that allows me to build on what I have and not have to re-invest in replacement equipment.

I have a D7000 and a D7100. I have an android phone (S4 with DSLRDashboard) which I currently connect via OTG to control my shoots.

I'm working on the premise that if it's good enough for Gunther it's gonna be good enough for me. But I'm looking at the tutorials for Holy Grail with DSLRDashboard and am confused about connecting the portrayed devices to my cameras.

I researched buying a Pixel Timer - some ads promise D7000 connectivity (plus others), some promise D7000 AND D7100 (plus others).

Question #1 Where does this device connect?

Question #2 With the Pixel timer connected where does the TP-Link 3040 connect?

Apologies if these questions are already answered - I searched the forums but didn't find them.

Hi,
the Pixel timer works with the same cable for D7100 and D7000, no problem. It connects to the GPS-/Remote connector.
TP-Link connects to the USB port of the camera.
