I'm getting a new computer soon, and I'm planning on transferring all the data from my current computer to the new one via an external hard drive. I'm wondering if my current Private license will be transferred to the new computer, or if I will have to purchase a new license.

Just deactivate the license on the old computer via the licensing dialog in LRTimelapse. Then on the new computer you can install LRTimelapse from my website and activate the license from the email that you got from me when you bought it. (the same procedure).

I have a similar question albeit I drowned and therefore destroyed my laptop so I am not able to deactivate the license before reinstalling on a new machine.

If the laptop is gone, just activate the license on your new computer.
