DNGConverter_12_1.exe unknown publisher - david4x - 2020-01-10

Anyone else seeing Windows10 reject DNGConverter_12_1.exe and not permit the install?

Surprising Adobe has released this in this state.

Any work around?

Not happening here. I've just downloaded the latest DNG Converter from the link provided on the install page and the installer is correctly signed by adobe, see the attached screenshot.

Maybe you downloaded the file from somewhere else or your computer might be compromised.

In any case: do not install any program (Lightroom, LRTimelapse, DNG Converter), where the installer is not correctly signed. It might be compromised with a virus, trojan etc.

Thanks for the prompt reply Gwegner and I agree. I have only used the links from your website and I double checked the urls were genuine adobe before the download. I also scanned the file afterwards so it’s very curious and will need to investigate much further

Gwegner, your install page uses a link - http://www.adobe.com/go/dng_converter_win/

This redirects to - https://supportdownloads.adobe.com/detail.jsp?ftpID=6811

The proceed to download button then redirects to - https://supportdownloads.adobe.com/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=6811&fileID=6821

Finally the download button redirects to - http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/dng/win/DNGConverter_12_1.exe

All appear to be valid Adobe urls with valid certificates.

Same results on two different windows machines so I am now doing a deep scan and also contacting Adobe.

It appears to be a certificate problem still trying to get Adobe to understand - see attached image

Adobe have ultimately stated they can't change the certificate and just bypass Window's complaints - what do you do!?

All my updates are current and I have installed all the certificates. Scans all good!

It's strange because the exact same installer that I download here is correctly signed and also I have never had any unsigned downloads from Adobe.

Could you try it on another machine?
Sometimes some weird virus scanners or so called "security software" might mess with the certificates of downloaded programs, that's why my first try would be to check it on another computer to see. Also make sure to turn off third party security solutione apart from Windows Defender.

I have tried it on three different Windows PCs. I am running AVG free.

Did you try with avg deactivated? Pull a new download then...

Reasonable idea but unfortunately same result.

I guess you'd need to discuss this with Adobe then...
