Rendered Video is completely black - racole41 - 2020-10-12

Using Canon 80D and following all the steps in Gunther_Wegner-Ebook_Timelapse_Photography_2020_1.00. I get a black screen. I used Lightroom Classic. Has anyone experienced this issue and can help?

Which render settings are you using and which player?

And you are sure that your video player is even capable of playing H.265 files?
Try rendering in MP4/H.264 instead or see this faq for choosing the right video player: https://forum.lrtimelapse.com/Thread-which-video-player-should-i-use-for-best-playback-performance-and-color-rendition

The video play supports the format. Using LRTimelapse Render Directly feature PowerDVD can play the video. See attached files.

LRTimelapse offers a variety of codes. You need to choose the one and the settings that your player / editor supports or choose another player / editor.

So I downloaded Adobe Premier Pro and imported the black 15 sec clip. Premier played it and everything was visible. Then I exported it our of Pro using the same settings for MP4. Cyberlink PowerDVD was then able to play it. So I'm at a loss as to why LRTimelapse didn't produce the video in the format that could be played in PowerDVD. I use Cyberlinks PowerDirector for all my video editing and when I attempt to import the black video it tells me it's in a format that is not recognizable. Am I missing a codec?

Why are you insisting in feeding Wide Gamut (Rec.2020) H.265 material to PowerDirector, if obviously that program doesn't support that?
There are only few programs supporting Rec.2020, even Premiere Pro has troubles with that.
I'd recommend that you export in Rec.709 (this will then also give you accurate colors) and preferably H.264 for higher compatibility.

I overlooked the WIde Gamut setting. I set it back to Rec.709. Using the Render Preview Video option results in a video that can be viewed. Using Render Video the result remains the same. The file size for the black video is 287MB whereas the Render Preview video is 57MB. I've modified most of my settings with the same results. There are 444 Raw images in this timelapse.
