Other router for wireless controll - Slonem - 2016-06-17 Hi everyone, I was wonderung whether it is possible to use another routher than the tp link TL MR3040 becuase the battery doesn´t last very long. Does the firmware work on other devices and which one can you recommend? Thank you!! RE: Other router for wireless controll - Gunther - 2016-06-17 Afaik Zoltan has mad a firmware for the 3020 too - but that one has no battery at all. I'd not care too much on the battery, just use a powerbank with one or 2 USB power supplies and connect the 3040 while using it. RE: Other router for wireless controll - Slonem - 2016-06-18 Thanks for your quick response. I think the best way is using the 3040 and you are right, it's super easy to run the router longer using a power bank. Also there is a lot of information and help for the 3040. Does anybody know the range of the wifi signal? RE: Other router for wireless controll - horstdroege - 2016-06-18 Hi, I use the TP link as well. But what I did is I reduced the RF power. By default its set to 500 mW which is far too much. I am using 10 mW. I use the phone always in a range of 5m around the camera. Haven't done a test how far the 10 mW will bring me. Its also a different in range between outdoor and indoor. Surely reducing from 500 to 10 mW will prolong your battery life. Longest I used was 4 hours. Hope this helps. Regards Horst |
