Best aperture values for 3 way ramping - smaraashi - 2016-10-03

Hello.

I have a question about aperture values when shooting 3 way ramping using qdsldashboard.

what are the best aperture values for shooting sunset? is it from like f/29 through f/2.8 .. I mean is it suitable to use the max aperture value or something like f/8 down to f/2.8 would be enough?

thanks in advance for your answer.

I'd try to avoid the extreme aperture values. Lenses are mostly not delivering the best image quality when shooting with at the limits of the aperture values. That's why I'd not close down to more then f/16 (to prevent defraction effects) and at the beginning not open up more then max minus one or two stops. I change the boundary for wides aperture then after the ISO has been increased when it's very dark to open up the last 1-2 stops. This will prevent visible vignetting.

do you mean that I shoud save the last one or two aperture stops to after the iso increasement finishes? in that way I can prevent lens vingetting?
