Anyone using the Rhino Motion for TL?

Hi Rich,

I am hoping that Rhino will proceed urgently with the "Pro Mode" as discussed. I emailed Rhino with a request for a date and got the following reply:

[size=small][font=Lucida Sans Unicode]Thank you for reaching out to me. I'd like to confirm that you are talking about an update that will allow you to set your own interval or "pro mode"? If so, we apologize for any inconvenience as we do not currently have a release date available for this feature request. I will pass your request onto our production team. Let me know if you have any questions.

This does not inspire confidence in a firmware upgrade soon. In your post, you say that you have a workaround regarding the interval setting. Could you explain how you achieve this please?

My problem is that when using Rhino + Arc there are gaps in the TL when the camera is writing to the card between shots and fails to release the shutter. I am using fast cards on a Canon 1Dx. This is really annoying me!

Kind regards,

Jeremy

Hello Alain,

Thank you for reaching out to me. I apologize for the delay in releasing our firmware update. I checked in with our developer building this update and was told this will be released in the next 1-2 weeks. I will keep your email on file and reach out as soon as this is available, but it will also post in our support article - https://rhinocameragear.com/a/support/portal/article/75. I sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this issue and build the latest firmware update. Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any additional questions.

Hi Alain,

Hmmm... 1-2 weeks sounds encouraging methinks!

Cheers,

Jeremy,

Katie said the exact same thing to me 4 months ago, don't get your hopes up. I think this is the link to the thread, if not, you can find it.

Hi Rich,

Is your workaround for the interval the cable modification for Canon? Just a bit confused here... :-)

I don't suppose Rhino is actually going to deliver on the interval issue as they said. I really like everything else about the Rhino Evo but I think this is a deal breaker for me as I'm looking to make a bundle purchase in the next two weeks.

There's a temporary (1.3 beta) version of the motion controller which includes intervals.  It was sent to me when i *reminded them it was long overdue* a few days ago.  I hate having to do that kind of things but sometimes, enough is enough...  Testing it now.

Anyway, ask them about it.

Hey Everyone, just found out this interval problem with the Rhino Motion and also the difficulty to ramp exposures. I have read the post but still don´t understand,

If we program the movement in Advance Timelapse mode but set the camera to Manual with a different shutter speed than the one set o Rhino Motion, don´t we loose sync in shoot-move-shoot? Am i missing something?

Thank a lot
