Build previews in lightroom and quality of deflicker?

Offline
#1 kornhulios
I'm doing construction timelapse workflow and as such, I often import many thousands of raw images in one run. To speed up the process in lightroom I like to use "minimal preview build" when converting to DNG format in the process. However, I would like to know if preview quality embedded the final DNG file affects the quality of the deflickering in LRTimelapse?

In theory, yes, if you use the simple deflicker (not the visual).
But since you convert to dng you can use the visual workflow and visual deflicker, in that case the size of the embedded previews doesn't matter at all.

What exactly is the difference between the simple and visual deflicker in this situation, Gwegner?

Simple deflicker uses any embedded previews as reference, visual deflicker uses the developed images. The latter is much more exact.
