can't restart LRT after quitting it in Windows 10

I can't seem to restart LRT after I quit it, I have to restart my machine to run LRT again.

LRT 5.3.1 Pro
Windows 10 Pro ver.1909

Usually it's not a problem, but at the moment I have long render in Adobe Media Encoder running (well, it's paused while I try to work in LRT), and I'll lose that render progress if I restart the machine.

I originally quit LRT so I could work in AE, which is a memory hog, but all that RAM is free now, and I wanted to get back to LRT work.

I fear that this is a Windows-specific problem, but if anyone can give me any tips, I'd really appreciate it.

First, update LRT to the latest version 5.4. Does it only happen when Adobe media Encoder is running? No error message, maybe hiddenby another window? Check the Windows Eventviewer. Also have a look in the Taskmanager for anything still running.

Sometime an ExifTool process gets stuck, then you can't restart LRT. Check your task manager for any instances of Exif-Tool or LRTimelapse running and kill them. Normally then you should be able to start LRT again.
