Can't select HDR as an option for output

I am trying to render as an HDR video but for some reason I cannot select the HDR option. Is there something I need to do in order for this option to be available?

You need to edit the keyframes in Lightroom with "HDR" enabled on the Basic Edit Tab (you'll need a proper HDR Monitor to do the editing) then export via the LRTExport Plugin from Lightroom, for such sequences you will then have the HDR feature in the render dialog enabled.

Hi Gunther, that is what I am doing. Each keyframe image has HDR enabled. I see the yellow HDR indicator in LRT that says it is an HDR timelapse, but when I go to export the HDR option is not selectable.

Oops hold on.. I just saw you mentioned using the LRTExport plugin. I've never used that before so I'm a little unfamiliar with it. I'll read up on how to use that and report back if I figure out how to do it or not.

Ok I did the export via LRTExport and having the same problem still. The render window pops open in LRT 7 but still can't select HDR. I tried all kinds of combinations of settings but nothing seems to enable that option.

You need to develop the keyframes with HDR Mode enabled (see screenshot).
Then in LRTExport, you need to select the "LRT Por (TIFF, HDR)" preset.
Ans of course, you need a Pro license for the HDR feature.

Yep, I have HDR turned on in all the keyframes and I have the pro license. I also selected TIFF, HDR in LRTexport. Not sure what else could be the problem. Even the HDR indicator on the main LRT screen is there. https://imgur.com/piey7J2

And you rendered with the blue option in the Render Dialog "Export Pre-Exported Intermediate Sequence" and selected that LRT_* folder with the exported HDR Tiffs from LRTExport?
(As I said, it doesn't work with the internal export and render (the orange option)).
Usually after the export from Lightroom has finished, the render dialog with popup in that mode and have the exported intermediary sequence loaded.

Please double check that you are really rendering from that exported HDR Tiff sequence. The Render dialog should also indicate that it's an HDR intermediate sequence.

Yep, I did all of those things. Here's a screenshot of what I see in the Render window. You can also see the yellow HDR icon too.

You are right. Adobe seems to have changed the way they export the HDR files in the mean time, they've added a "Maximize Compatibility" setting, which breaks things because it enabled by default.
I'm currently traveling and could not implement an actual fix yet (need to investigate more).

Until I release a fix, you can export the intermediaries via a manual Export Preset that you can download from here:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/jyxfoak0k...9q30l&dl=1

Just download it, then open the Lightroom Export Dialog, right click on any of the presets on the left and choose "Import". Select the downloaded preset.
This will be a "regular" Lightroom export preset, where you need to enter the name of the exported intermediate sequence manually (always start with LRT_). Those settings will produce an HDR intermediate export that LRTimelapse will detect as HDR. Of course the render dialog won't popup autmatically with this, so please open it via "File / Render Video" after the export is finished and select the recently exported intermediate sequence.##

Sorry for the troubles, I'm happy you found that issue! Will try to fix it asap.

Upon further investigation this seems to be a bug in the Adobe API introduced in one of the last updates.
I've filed a bug report and reached out to Adobe in order to have this fixed asap. Let's wait what they say.
I'll keep you posted.

Moving this thread to bug reports.
