De-flickering what is best?

The first screenshot looks okay. In the second like if you pulled down the strength slider - it wouldn't give you any deflickering since the new exposure-curve matches the old one.
Once again:
Once saved after deflickering you must not apply another deflickering without first reseting the exposure values! (right Mouse on table colum Exposure -> reset values)
Rule of thumb:

Once again:
- The Blue curve is the brightness (make sure to draw a rectangle in the preview panel to set the reference area to the sky)
- The Green curve is the smoothed out blue curve and should reflect the intended brightness
- The red curve shows the correction we are doing to the exposure (current yellow curve) so it is somewhat mirrored against the blue curve.
Once saved after deflickering you must not apply another deflickering without first reseting the exposure values! (right Mouse on table colum Exposure -> reset values)
Rule of thumb:
- Set an appropriate reference area
- Smooth out the green curve to eliminate local flicker - don't overexagerate it
- Normally let the "strength" Slider a its default.

Thank you, sorry I only get this now, I thought I was subscribed to get mails when someone post reply.
OK this helped. I understand the lines now, I was confused I thought I had to get rid of the tooth's in the lines but now I know I only need to get rid of the tooth's in the blue line and the red is the compensation of the correction.
What I would like to know is when do I draw a reference box in the sky, ONLY when I want to de-flicker or always.
2nd the Auto transition, how does it calculate the transition? I understand the linear, but not the Auto.

The reference Box is only for deflickering.
The auto-transitions comes into play when you work wit keyframes. Check the tutorial Videos to See how that works - it's really worth it!

Cool thank you, I have seen the video with the sky scrapers as a matter I have seen all of your videos, really cool and helpful, I am just trying to get my head around this great program of you.
Is the reference box a must for de-flickering or is it just recommended for better results.

I did use keyframes but cant see how the auto change the effects.
My videos with the linear was done linear from one keyframe to the the next and another linear to the next.
