Normally it should. Can you double check if it works when no process is running and only not, when those processes are active?

Ok, I've just tested on Win and Mac and it worked without issues.
I think what might have happened is that if the computer is very busy developing the previews, the UI and Drag Drop etc. might take a while to react. You could try to lower the amount of parallel processes for preview generation a bit in Settings / Expert Settings, then restart LRTimelapse. This should allow more "room" for other programs when LRT is busy.
