DslrDashboard on a Android Win 7 Emulator

Hi,

at the moment have no Android 4.x device. The dashboard server ist now running on the raspberry and i want to play with it.

Is it possible to run this app on an emulator running on Win7?
I tried BlueStacks, but it did not work. Maybe i have to try it with an empty Google account with no registered smart phone.

Thanks & BR

Yes you can, I recommend Genymotion ( http://www.genymotion.com/ ).
Uses VirtualBox and has OpenGL support so it is very fast.
The latest x86 version is here : https://code.google.com/p/dslrdashboard/...30_x86.apk
And here is the OpenCV Manager for x86: https://code.google.com/p/dslrdashboard/....9_x86.apk

You can install the apks with adb.
I used the 'Preview -- WXGA 10.1 - 4.3 - API 18 1280x800' Genymotion virtual device but it's working with others to.

Btw, if you want that your Genymotion Virtual Device be in same network as your PC then after you downloaded and installed your Genymotion Vritual Device in VirtualBox Manager select it and in virtual device settings under 'Network' change the 'Adapter 2' 'Attached to' from 'NAT' to 'Bridged Adapter'. Don't touch the 'Adapter 1'.

Hi,

thanks for your answer. In the meantime i installed this emulator http://blog.laptopmag.com/create-android-emulator.
After i installed the app i could connect to the camera and toke a picture. It works :-)
But then i switched to live view but the app crashed. After an android reboot and a new connection to the server, the app found camera, but then the app crashed again. Camera is a D800.

Don't know that one.
As DD uses OpenGL for LV, probably that is the problem.

Hi,

yes the missing open GL was the problem. With genymotion it works fine. I download the files directly without using the adb tool.

Thanks & BR Ingo
