I custom made a set of travel rails that are ea 24" long to fit in a suitcase. It makes a 4' rail which is plenty. Everything works well. I have a ball head and stainless screw that I can include with the dolly as they normally don't come with the ball head.

I used this dolly for my Nikon d600 and a Tokina 16-28 Lens, which was pretty heavy and the dolly hummed right along without a problem.

I don't use this gear enough to justify having it collecting dust. It's got some wear and tear, but everything functions 100%. (wear and tear meaning the blue annodizing is worn off in the a couple spots from a poorly packed adventure, but it's in a spot that the dolly doesn't touch so it doesn't affect performance.)

New the kit was $1095, Hard to estimate the cost of the custom rails. $100?
