Hi Gunther,

Got the weirdest problem.
When I export a sequence from Lightroom, LRT starts (or already started), and gives me an external encoder error.

When I then try render video from the tab of LRT, the sequence is already visible and when I then hit render, it renders flawlessly.

I got the logfile here:

I'm on the latest of LRT en Lightroom. This is quite a serious thing for me, since selecting every folder would be an enormous challenge in the workflow.

Any ideas? Already reinstalled LRT.

Hi Bas,
is that really an intermediary sequence exported via the LRTExport plugin?
I wonder, because it has an sRGB color profile embedded, which shouldn't be the case if exported from LRTExport.

But independently from that, I see that there is a constellation if you had set LRTimelapse to render in original resolution and then chose to skip the render dialog ("Last LRT Render Settings" in LRTExport) the render will fail because of the original resolution.

This will be fixed in the next update. For now I'll send you a beta where I've fixed this.

Yes it is an export from LRT.
Allthough the checkbox export narrow gammut was checked?

First of all, thank you for that Beta, it works again!

Second: Good question. Long term timelapses I shoot on jpg sRGB format. So the gamut is already narrow, close to rec709 which is commonly used in video's. To my knowledge the rec709 gamut is still the best option for most screens since not all of them are fully capable of wide gamuts. I also render the sequence in rec709 since its the closest to the output movie file (mp4) and the photo's are taken in that gamut. Thats why I checked that box as well (sounds logical to me, that lightroom also exports to sRGB.

But do correct me if I am wrong!

Hi, that's OK, if it's jpgs. But normally I would recommend to leave it at the default setting. LR would then export Rec. 2020 and LRT would do the conversion to Rec709 when rendering.
