Export not working

Offline

I am having a problem exporting the files. My first attempts were successful, but now only one jpg file is being exported into the LRT folder prior to the rendering stage.

On export errors plase check:
  • Do you have the latest LRTExport Plugin installed? - Usually comes with the latest LRTimelapse version.
  • You might still be using a 32 bit java on windows (please check info menu/log, you'll find the java version near the top of the log. If you are on a 64bit windows, you should definitely install the 64 bit java! Best is to uninstall any java versions and then install the latest 64bit version from here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp - after installing, please check the following setting and change it if necessary!
  • On Windows 64bit: make sure that in the LRTimelapse settings on the "External Tools" page the path is set to .....\ffmpeg64.exe (not ffmpeg.exe)
  • Make sure you don't have any virtual copies in the folder or they are hidden (click on the small number indicating the virtual copy to hide it)
  • The crop of all of your images is the same. Please note: I do not recommend animating the crop with LRTimelapse. Instead better export the video with a fixed (larger) crop in 3K or 4K and make the crop animation later in post processing. Lightroom will always crop to full pixel. This mit lead to jitter and might cause slightly different aspect ratios that again causes the encoder to fail. To be on the safe side: Equilize the crop in LRTimelapse by right clicking on one of the crop-table-headers and selecting "Fill column downwards" - then save and load the metadata for all images in Ligtroom again. As usually make sure to do all metadata operations while in Grid-Mode (G).

After exporting now you should have all JPGs in the intermediate directory and LRTimelapse should launch the render dialog.

If not, check the LRTimelapse log file (info/show log).

Gunter - I've had exactly the same issue. It seems that something happens when you do multiple edits, saving metadata multiple times. I've tried all that you suggest except this one thing - can you explain in more detail this piece? I'm assuming you're talking about LR's virtual copies, but I don't know exactly where you would click in the folder.

At any rate, all of the other issues were tried to no avail. I reset the crop columns in LRTimelapse as I did see some differences there. I even went as far as resetting all the images and LR and starting over by saving this metadata and then re-initializing in LRTimelapse. Each time, when LRTimelapse did the auto transition (after saving metadata, reading it in LR, saving it again from LR with no changes, and then reloading in LRTimelapse), I noticed that differences in the crop were introduced when I haven't touched the crop factor in LR.

The only solution I found that worked consistently was to start completely over - erasing everything (RAW and XMP files) on disk and reloading them from my CompactFlash card (of course not the optimum solution but the only one I could get to work.

If you have virtual copies for single files in the sequence, this will disturb the numbering on export.
So just remove the virtual copies or "fold them in" by clicking on the "1 of 2" label, so that the virtual copy gets stacked and is not visible anymore. Then select the whole sequence with ctrl-a again before exporting.

Hello Gunther,

I have the same issue as above. I use the latest LRT 3.2.1 (Trial) + LR 5.2
I follow the workflow described on http://lrtimelapse.com/workflow/. All steps are ok until I want to export files.

The thing is that I shoot JPGs so only little editing is done in LR. But I have no problem following the workflow till the last step.

When I select all images in LR and go File > Export > Select "Export Time Lapse (LRTimelapse) > Click "Export" .. then it shows "Preparing Export" and nothing else happens.

Getting a message when Export windows is opened:
"You are trying to export from a collection. It's recommended that you directly open the folder with the time lapse sequence instead before exporting. This will allow the plugin to generate path and filenames automatically instead of using default 'LRTSequence'".

Result:
- Only 1 JPG file is exported: LRT_00001.jpg
- Original JPG file dimensions are: 2592 x 1728 px
- The exported file size: 4096 x 2304 px (!!!)

And this is where it stops. What could be the problem? Log file from LRTimelapse below.

[Edit]
What I also tried is exporting all JPGs from Lightroom. Renamed them so the names are as they should be once exported via LRTimelapse plugin. So filenames are in this format: LRT_00001.jpg.
Then in LRTimelapse selecting File > Render Video.. and pointing it into folder with exported files gives me this error:

"No suitable image sequence found.
Please make sure to select an intermediate sequence that has been created from within Lightroom using the LRTimelapse Exporter. The folder with the intermediate sequence normally starts with LRT_ and contains files with names LRT_00001.jpg/tif ..."

Thanks!

Please try restarting Lightroom. Make sure that no virtual copies are in that sequence and make sure that the crop is the same for all images (sync crop to all images, just to make sure).

Quote:"You are trying to export from a collection. It's recommended that you directly open the folder with the time lapse sequence instead before exporting. This will allow the plugin to generate path and filenames automatically instead of using default 'LRTSequence'".
Just click on the folder on the left side in Lightroom, by default after importing "Last import" collection will be selected.

Quote:- Only 1 JPG file is exported: LRT_00001.jpg
- Original JPG file dimensions are: 2592 x 1728 px
- The exported file size: 4096 x 2304 px (!!!)
The size of the intermediate sequences will always be 4K, that's fine.

Quote:And this is where it stops. What could be the problem? Log file from LRTimelapse below.
If that all does not help, please send me the LRTExport.log from your documents folder.

I too have had exactly this problem. The only solution I have found to work is to delete the folder LR is writing to, restart Lightroom and then export works fine. (Mac)

I'm having the same problem. The rendered video has about 960 of 5600 images.

The Path to MPEG Encoder is set to: C:\Program Files (x86)\LRTimelapse 3\ffmpeg64.exe
