export raw + xmp to dpx... ?

Offline
#1 24images
hi,

To preserve the best color depth I usely export my raw to tiff file with lightroom, and then import my serie of tiff images in After Effects.
But recently I had a lot of timelapses to process and lighter files would have help me a lot. Is there a way to export directly raw+xmp to .dpx files ?
When a tiff file weight around 100 Mo a dpx is only 60Mo.

DPX is not a format that Lightroom can export to, therefore it's not possible, sorry.
Apart from this, I'd recommend using tiff. If you want to save space, do a real world comparison, if you really need 16 bit or 8 bit will also do. In many situations you won't see a difference.
Also you can render to DNxHR or ProRes in LRTimelapse and bring those files to your video editor. Then you can even choose to delete the intermediary tiff files.
You won't sacrifice quality that way. DNxHR and ProRes are nearly lossless codecs that are meant to be used as intermediaries in video editing and will also provide way higher editing performance than a tiff sequence.
