Fine Motion Control Hardware Options?

Offline
#1 lalaland
Hi there. Fantastic software and community to which I am already very grateful!

Can the guys here recommend a brand / company for motion control hardware which has very tight and accurate control over the movements necessary for macro e.g. 2:1 closeup. I invested in a brand already (not into naming / shaming) which simply couldn't control or repeat the movements smoothly enough for my needs. The final videos are jittery and with beginnings and ends that are not smooth. I am doing timelapses of flowers which take place over many days and would love to move say from one side to the other e.g. 70-80cm over a period of days. For best results I will need to be able to program the focusing of an old Pentax 67 lens.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

eMotimo Spectrum ST4 is probably the best head to achieve this as it runs super smooth. The Spectrum can control motors for slider & lens motor as well. For basic moco, it can be controlled with the enclosed PS4 controller. For more advanced keyframing, there is an interface to Dragonframe.
For your purose I would get a heavier slider/dolly, like Dana Dolly or similar. DP Stage Zero Mk2 might be a good and very affordable option.
