Floating through Time

This is my first attempt using a DSLR to shoot Timelapse.
I snatched my sisters Canon 450D and borrowed a Kessler Cineslider from a friend.
I never had any experiences with DSLR´s before, but i always was fascinated viewing time lapses online.
So i decided to do it myself!
I learned allot during 2 months of shooting (the weather was terrible most of the time), but i still have to learn more.

LRTimelapse helped me allot! Deflicker did a good job. The possibility to do a transition in WB and Exposure is awsesome.

Most of the shoots were taken with the kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm f3.5), except the illuminated city at the end of the clip.
This was taken with the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8., and i love it.

Unfortunately, my district is very boring (Hamburg/Germany). No mountains, light pollution preventing me to shoot many stars and it was very cold.
Next time i will start to teach myself a new technique during Summer!
Standing 3-4 hours at a low temperature (-10°C/14F) freezes my tails off!

Enjoy the video and don`t forget to rate and comment!

Interesting video. How were the fireworks shot? Or were they animations from Cinema 4d/after effects?

The fireworks wre shot with an EX1 a year ago at the port of Hamburg.
It`s a composition made in After Effects, combining a time lapse sequence with the fireworks.

Wow, that's great. Looks like you had some method of turning (yaw) the camera and also panning it?

Man, some of the sequences are awesome!
How did you create the 3:21 sequence, is it CGI? The camera move seems to be impossible.

I would love to hear about your postprocessing.

The Camera move above the city was done in post. It was a mixture between zooming, panning and corner pin
