Help! Inconsistent exposure showing up in LRTimelapse, Sony A7R III

Hello! Recently went on a trip with a new Sony A7R III and intervalometer to shoot some time lapses.  As I processed them, some of them have severe flicker.  Camera settings were identical between shots (f/11, 1/50 sec, ISO 100) but the exposures are quite different.  As it is, LRTimelapse is not able to remove this flicker, as it seems to be too intense.  Has anyone had any experience with this?

Though the settings remained the same from shot to shot (camera in M mode), the ISO was set to AUTO.  Although the EXIF reports that the ISO did not change, perhaps it was fluctuating slightly but not reporting it?  This is my only theory at the moment.  Have you ever seen anything like this? Any help is appreciated.

That seems to be aperture flicker. It happens when the iris of the lens gets stuck when being closed down. Sometimes this happens, it's pretty normal.
Check out this video to see how it happens:

LRT5 should be able to fix it easily.
Just use the regular visual workflow in LRT/Lightroom, do not edit too much, be careful especially with Dehaze/Clarity/Whites/Blacks.
Then use the visual deflicker and do refine passes until the pink curve is smooth.

Thank you so much for the quick reply! I appreciate your help and your product. Unfortunately, even after several attempts, LRT5 does not seem able to fix this. Even when the pink curve is smooth the flicker is still apparent. The aperture on the A7R3 does not move from shot to shot, and the variation in exposure seems more drastic than typical 'aperture variation.'

Also notice that the variation does not happen early in the shot and then begins after 10 seconds. I will contact Sony and see if they can tell what is happening.

This is a portion of the video after correcting flicker with LRT5, 4 passes at high accuracy.

Hi Gunther,

JUST figured it out after a week. It is completely my fault and the result of a different piece of software (DXO Optics) in my workflow. Thank you for the help!

Oh, yeah - you should do a RAW-File only workflow with LRTimelapse in order to get the very best quality.
