Just wondering if there is a way that the Holy Grail Wizard can just match the total exposure and not try to ramp the settings up as I want to control that part. This used to be possible with LRT 3. I find it hard for it to get right and I don't like having to chop between LRT and LR. Is there a way to disable this?

Just use the sliders to move the adjustment curve so that it's close to the horizontal line at the middle. This will make only the adjustments then, and you can control the brightness transitions via the exposure and the 4* keyframes in Lightroom then.
