Try to underexpose your sky for sunset shots, I do not recommend using gradual ND filter, removing them would be pain.
If you have a good censor it would not be problem for you to recover this data via Lightroom I do not now the performance of J1 so you should just try it out.

This one looks OK if you switch it to 1080p HD with the gear icon in the viewer. I had my camera set to shutter priority, and I think it would have turned out better at aperture priority.

I used a fisheye lense to create tonights timelapse of the Vue (a 51 story residential skyscraper in Charlotte NC). It looks best in 1080p HD if you change the setting with the little gear button in the viewer.
