Locking aperture

Offline
#1 rodrigo
Hi All,

To many of you probably this is a kindergarten question, I have shot a number of time lapses always in manual, and I find myself always fiddling with the aperture compensate dial. due to the change of light intensity. Does anybody knows how to lock this setting for the duration of time lapse sequence?
It works fine in AV mode as it will remain on -1, for instance without changing during the remaining of the shooting even when the light intensity changes. I use the Canon 50D for my time lapses. but everyone tell you to shoot in M and not AV.

kind regards,

Rodrigo

In M-Mode you don't have to care about Aperture Compensation. Just ignore it, no matter on which setting it is it will not make any difference. Just shoot your time lapse in M mode and Change Shutterspeed and ISO as you need to according to the "Holy Grail" technique. Check out my tutorials or EBook https://lrtimelapse.com/shop/ebook/ to learn about it.
