LRT 5.3 beta 2 - No composite output file after rendering 16bit tiff source files

Offline
#1 magges
Hi Gunther,

I found something which is probably not related to the changes in this beta.

I had some 16bit tiff sequences and tried to render a composite. Generation of preview works.
Rendering of the final image starts as well and gets done until the progress bar is at the end, but the final output file is not written to disk.
This is in the LRTimelapse log
Code:
[2019-07-18 22:19:23] DEBUG: Creating composite from /Users/magges/Pictures/Timelapse/render_temp/LRT_D_BW_Ulm_Donau_Fussgaengerbruecke_Abends

[2019-07-18 22:19:23] DEBUG: Stripe width: 259

Is the reason that I am using the unlicensed trial version? Generation of compositions with jpg source files works.

Works fine here, the only thing that's wrong is the log Entry, which says ERROR although it should say INFO.
Did you check if the composite was created in /Users/magges/Pictures/Timelapse/render_temp
If not, maybe it's a memory issue: try increasing the memory provided to LRTimelapse as explained here: http://forum.lrtimelapse.com/Thread-mac-...rtimelapse

The composite was not created.
I now set the memory parameter to 16GB and restarted LRT, but the file is also not created. According to activity monitor of MacOS, LRT is still using only 2.04GB memory. The process of generating the composite takes about 18 Minutes with the error at the end.
When working on timelapse sequences (holy grail, generation of visual previews), the memory usage exceeds 2.04GB.

Here is the log, the new memory setting was detected correctly
Code:

Please try with beta 3. The message is corrected there, and on my system I get the output files in the named location (folder where the LRT_
I wonder why there are no real error messages, in case that it fails, because my code generates an error ("Error creating composite") should the creation fail.
One thing you could try to move the LRT_ folder to another location, on a second drive etc. and then try again from there just to make sure that the MacOS doesn't block any permissions to the user folder.

Sorry, I was busy during the weekend.
I think it has nothing to do with the permissions as creating a composite with source files in jpg format works. I tried again with an external drive, but it's still the same. The file which is mentioned in the log is not created.

I saw you changed the log output in my error case from "ERROR" to "INFO". Did it also print "ERROR" before beta 3 in case of creating the file successfully?

Yes, it was only the log entry that was labeled wrong.
Currently I have no idea, what's happening on your system. It works on other systems with tiff files also.
Did you try different settings, less images, another sequence, less stirpes etc.?

yes, I also tried with a set of just 5 photos from the same sequence. No success.
I tried a set of 9 photos from another sequence. No success.
The only parameter I changed is "Übergangsbreite". I tried several settings, no success.

This is strange...

But apart from that, everything works fine!

Please send me 3 of those tiff files via Dropbox, I'll try to reproduce when I'm back from holidays.
