LRT Mac installation problem

Offline
#1 Towsley
Hi,

I'm trying to test LRTimelapse on Macs running 10.12.5 and Lightroom CC.

On launch, LRTimelapse tells me I need to install EXifTool.

I do this, relaunch and get the same warning again.

The warning pane also directs to the install information LRT web page but this has no relevant information to solve the problem.

If I ignore the ExifTool warning and go into LRTimelapse I get another warning saying that add-ons have not been installed correctly.

So I'm going round in circles. This happens on two different Macs.

Any advice as to a solution? Thanks!

It seems as if you are trying to install the outdated LRTimelapse 3 on the latest Macs. This is not supported.
Please download and install the latest LRTimelapse 4 from my Download page: https://lrtimelapse.com/download
Uninstall (trash) any older LRTimelapse version before.
If you have a license key for LRT3 you can buy a discounted upgrade to version 4 here: https://lrtimelapse.com/upgrade

Thanks for replying.

Unfortunately I'm trying to install 4.7 and systematically use the uninstall function before each attempt.

Could you please send me the log file after launching it? You'll find it in the info menu.

Obviously the LRTimelapse installer cannot install the external tools to /usr/local/bin because of missing permissions.

Make sure that the folder /usr/local/bin is writable: open a terminal window and enter
Code:
sudo chmod -RL +rwX /usr/local/bin

Mind the capitalization. After hitting enter, type in your password (it won't show).

Now launch the LRTimelapse installer once more, then launch LRTimelapse. All badges for external programs on the top right should be green.

Should this still not work, please send me the installer log. To get it, run the installer once more and after it finished (last dialog page) go to window/installer log and then select "Show all logs" from the drop down. Send me that log then please.
