LRT3 crashing while in the import tab

Question

My pc is a macbook pro early 2011.
When I open up the import tab, LRT3 crashes. I cannot do anything including cancel to exit the tab, so I have to forcibly quit it to shut it down. This happens every time. I do not know what else I can say about this problem. Has anyone else experienced this? Just click on the import tab and see if it also crashes for you, it may just be my pc.

Thanks Gunther but it is not a memory; I have 4096GB RAM allocated towards LRT3 and it still is crashing. This leads me to believe that it is not a memory issue.
Once i click on the "Import from card" it goes to the importer screen and then crashes/freezes and the only way out is to quit the process with "Force Quit", if I do not click on the "Import" button i can see and click on anything including the card but I do not get a "Where to..." screen.

There is a screen that pops up, very briefly when I initially start LRT3, too fast so i cannot see what it says.

When you open the importer it will scan your drives to show all folders. If you have slow network drives this might take some time. Just wait a couple of minutes just to make sure. Normally it opens really fast, but who knows. Please let me know if that helps.

Thanks but that did not work. Also when i initialize the Import tab it looks different than yours on the tutorial.

Does look normal to me. So it is opening?! What exactly is the problem? Can you send me the log file? (info/log)

Everything works great until I click on Import from card. Sometimes it will let me pick a source but afterwards it will crash, in will let the spinning wheel spin but nothing changes.

Here is the log file but it does not show too much (to me), I hope that it helps. But I cannot pull a log file when it does crash, the whole program freezes up and I have to force quit to stop LRT3. I am also attaching another screenshot of my Activity Monitor when it has crashed.
Please send the content of this log-file to support@lrtimelapse.com if you experience any problems.

I thought that it maybe because I have Magic Lantern installed on my card, so I removed it (ml). It still crashes.

Hi,
same here Sad
purchased the pro version today.
I´m not able to find my card (CF / USB 2.0 reader).
I doesn´t crash, but the import-dialog is very slow and reacts, once I clicked somewhere, only after 20-30 secs.
Seems like dead in the meantime.
After importing my stuff to the hd, all is fine, so that´s my solution so far.
My machine is a macbook pro, 2.3 i7, 8gb ram and OSX 10.8.4...

Btw... no ML on the CF, just RAW files from the 5dM2

This is usually because of big folder structures, and the import dialog then takes some time scanning them. I will try speeding things up in the next version respectively give better user feeback so it doesn't look like it hangs. Just wait for it to scan the folders.
