Earlier this year I completed a two part video documenting the 2014 running of MINI Takes the States, a cross-USA road rally involving thousands of MINI Coopers driving together for two weeks across a series of adventures from San Francisco to Boston. I recorded the entire event in timelapse and mixed those segments with lots of live video, photographs, and other effects to generate the video. I used royalty-free music from Audioblocks. com to score the video.
The video in both parts runs 8 1/2 hours, so it is one of the larger productions perhaps, but it does record 14 days of travel across the US from the point of view of capturing every moment of travel on the road - in that I succeeded with only a few miles missed due to a malfunctioning camera. There are 62 timelapse segments in the video, encompassing 186,303 individual images. All of the timelapse segments were rendered in Lightoom and LRTimelapse from the output of two GoPro cameras mounted on the car (one Hero 3+ black and one Hero 2).
The video is in two parts on YouTube. I have also produced BluRay 1080p versions on disk for close friends.
