Just getting started with motion control with my time lapse shooting landscapes including nightscapes. Looking for reliability, simple, somewhat portable (not for backpacking). Right now I like what is offered my Syrup, Rhino, and Dynamic Perception. EMotimo looks great but seems more complex and maybe over my head. But I am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Actually eMotimo not complex at all... it's the most capable system of the ones you mentioned. The UI and ease of use is exceptional.
DP is very flexible and modular, Rhino & Syrp are more ore less closed ecosystems, which might become a problem if you want to upgrade to more axis, lens motors etc. later on. DP and eMotimo are very open systems, which are compatible to each other and other stepper motor based products. If you have the budget, go for eMotimo or DP - but if you don't need full featured multi axis control, Rhino and Syrp are fine as well.
