New Desktop Icon with every update

Offline

First of all, happy new year and thanks for the new update.
And this leads to my question:
I guess it's maybe not a bug, so I'm just curious:
when installing updates of LRT, a new desktop icon is created each time, but the old on(es) remain(s), so you end up with a large collection of LRT-Icons on your desktop if you don't delete the older ones manually.
Is there a reason for this?

Greetings, Kurt

I'm on Win10, and it happened with every Update including 5.5.7.

Hi Kurt, this doesn't seem to be happening for other users including me. Please unonstall lrt, remove all those Taskbar icons and then reinstall it. You can then pin it to the Taskbar.

Okay, thanks for the quick answer.
Since everything else in LRT is working, I guess it's enough if I deinstall before installing the next update?

Greetings, Kurt.

Are you talking about desktop icons or Taskbar icons?
Desktop icons will get produced with the current version number. Normally I'd recommend just deleting them after pinning lrt to the task bar. It's total normal that for every update (with a different name) you get a new icon.
I thought initially you guys were speaking about icons docked to the Taskbar.

Hi Gunther, yes it the Desktop Logo/Icon. I always delete/change the taskbar icon.
