ive tried everything, renaming picture files, renaming picture folders, converting pictures to DNG before workflow, even a full system restore to erase all pieces of lrtimelapse, java, adobe dng converter


i reinstalled lrtimelapse 4.7.1, java 64bit, and the latest adobe dng converter

when i choose a dedicated folder of only one sequence of CR2 files (or one sequence of DNG files),
only a few of the images will load in the preview lum and then it will just stop loading

so i terminate the program, clear all lrtimelapse editting, and import the cr2 folder again, and then nothing will show in the Preview Lum, none of them will load.

my only luck is to turn the computer completely off, restart and try to import the picture folder in lrtimelapse

if im very lucky, every image (only 80 total) will load
so i go through the workflow, color grade in light room, save metadata, and then back to reload, auto trans, save in lrtimelapse

I click visual preview, now nothing will show in the Visual Lum so i cant apply deflicker adequateley.


So i terminate the program, reopen...try to import the folder...once again nothing at all loads in Preview Lum

the program only seems to try to work upon a fresh restart of the computer, but it only works for a bit, and then one of these issues shows up.

please assist,  as id love to utilize this software for 6k rendering, but ive spent 6 hours with this evaluation and have gotten nothing but problems

hi Gunther,
this did not solve the issue, i also turned windows defender completely off... lrtimelapse still freezes during preview lum
it will load jpgs, so it must be something with the exif tool
how can i be the only one with this problem??

I'd try to launch exiftool manually via a command line. Executing
c:\Program Files (x86)\LRTimelapse 4\exiftool.exe -ver
should do it. You will most likely get the same error. It says that exiftool cannot create its cache folder.

Definitely something on your system. Check the exiftool support forum too!

You might want to check that folder - delete everything under C:\Users\<YOURUSER>\AppData\Local\Temp\
Then try again. Just make the tests without LRTimelapse, just by running Exiftool like explained abocve.

so exif tool is working initially manually , however when i try to load images in lrtimelapse, the program freezes...
then if i try to open exif tool again it only flashes CMD for a millisecond and then disappears

LRTimelapse is doing something to crash EXIF tool

EXIF tool will not open manually unless i restart the PC

(ive tryed 3 different versions of EXIF tool, all of them crash)

Of course LRTimelapse does a lot more with exiftool then you, when you just start it to display the help screen.
Still the question is, why it's getting stuck on your system. I'll send you an email.
