Significant difference between LRTimelapse visual preview and Lightroom

Offline
#1 vwoo
LRTimelapse 6.2, Adobe DNG Converter 15.0, Windows 10, Lightroom 11.2, Intel x64

I am finding that in a sequence I am working on that the visual previews differ significantly from Lightroom's. This is after I have applied auto transition between my keyframes.

Here's an example two screenshots of the first two frames in the sequence as seen in LRTimelapse: https://imgur.com/a/T8bqcaM. The white balance seems to differ significantly.

However, when reloading the metadata for those two frames in Lightroom, they look very similar: https://imgur.com/a/ozd0fjw.

Here's a link to those two frames are their metadata: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c86wcu6eu8ti52...s.zip?dl=0

Here's the logfile:

That's indeed an interesting case! I've analyzed your images (thanks for providing them!) and it's indeed strange the Lightroom develops differently here than the Adobe DNG Converter with same versions. Even though you are using an older version of Lightroom (I suggest to update to the latest) - here on my tests the same happens with the latest LrC 12.

The culprit here again is the Dehaze tool. As soon as you remove Dehaze, both images look same.

I already elaborated in my Expert Tips Video #5 that non-linear tools such as Dehaze might react differently on different images, even if the only differ slightly. There might be turning points where the development changes as you experienced it here.

Check out that Video to understand what happens and to learn how to find and eliminate such issues. In your case, removing the Dehaze fixes it.

Yeah, I concluded similarly, but I thought I could push dehaze a bit more. That said, I use the LRT previews to figure out the tolerances for edits, and having them diverge from Lightroom's was pretty shocking (as that's never happened to me before). Is this perhaps due to a Adobe DNG converter update?

I think that might be a bug in the latest DNG Converter, but I didn't test it with previous versions. Let's continue monitoring this. That images of yours are definitely a strong example for the Dehaze issue.

Is there a CLI way to run the DNG converter on a variety of versions? I could poke around.

You could just uninstall the current DNG converter and install the older one and see if that helps.
On the install page there are links to Adobe's FTP, where you can find older versions: https://lrtimelapse.com/install/

I concur this, I'm using Lightroom Classic 12.0.1 and latest LRTimelapse.
After developing my raw files using "Subject > Landscape> LN03" preset in Lightroom, sync all files and then write metadata to files, no matter what I do, I cannot see that same effect in LRTimelapse visual preview. They just look default as if I never edited them.

Edit: OK, my mistake. I think i didn't remove the old lrt folder in the images containing the previous previews.

Normally you shouldn't do anything manually to the .lrt folders. LRTimelapse will manage them and update any previews automatically whenever necessary.

I'm having the same issue. It has just started to occur for me in the past few weeks, haven't changed any settings or edit presets, which makes me wonder maybe it is since I updated DNG converter

Or possibly when I updated to the new LRtimelapse?
