Starlapse flicker issue

Hoping someone might be able to help me out here.

Best suggested deflicker workflow for this starlapse?

I've used the deflicker workflow in LR timelapse, but have been getting poor results (maybe because of the intense milkyway in the frame?) I've tried several reference areas, the most recent one in the center of the image.

Shot on 5Diii

Rokinon FE14M-C 14mm

f2.8

manual mode

30 second exposures

3 second delay

Thanks!

Did you probably forget a link?
Especially with night time lapse, due to the heavy editing that you normaly do, you might have to use the two step deflicker like I described it in my ebook, and in a couple of forum posts here as well, just search for it.

Sorry about that!

Thank you for the response.

I have watched your deflicker tutorials and have searched the forum quite a bit but have had trouble with this specific situation.

I'm seeking advice as to where I should place the reference area. I've also tried the 2 pass approach but with similar disappointing results.

Do you see a sweet spot in this timelapse that I should aim for with the reference area? Or maybe an animated reference area?

Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

That's no flicker. That's the flashlight of others illuminating the area (and sky) inbetween.
Put the reference area to the sky, that's the best you can do.

Thanks so much for the response. That is good to know!

I am wondering however, I notice a significant color shift from frame to frame.

Any thoughts on how to approach this?

Thanks!

This is a problem of some sensors. Very hard to correct.
LRT-Motion Blur Plus when rendering can help to ease it out.

For anyone else experiencing this issue...

I found that it was the clarity slider. Any other adjustments would not cause flicker, but even a slight increase in clarity would send the flicker out of control.

Thanks for everyone's help!

thank you for that feedback.
Yes - clarity is a weird beast sometimes - especially with very dark images.
So this was not the sensor readout problem that I sometimes experiences with some cameras.
Glad you could sort it out.
