Transportation of accumulator in airplanes

Offline
#1 Trauti74
Hello,

my (self-made) slider will go to Iceland in a few weeks. Sadly without me... Sad
The slider is supplied with power from the following accumulator:

Panasonic UP-VW 1245P1
- lead battery
- lead-fleece-technology
- 12V DC
- approx. 7 Ah (?)
- see also --> product page on website of distributor (Reichelt)

The guy who will use the slider in Iceland wants to know if its possible to transport this type of battery in an airplane.
What types of batteries are you using with your slider, if you will go by plane to the shooting place? Which regulations have to be considered?

I would be very happy if someone has some hints for me. Thanks in advance! Smile

Best regards
Stefan.

Hi Stefan,
I'd rather use a Powerbank - they are much smaller and lighter and I've never had any problems transporting them in my hand luggage.
Normally I use the XTPower Porwerbanks with 23000 mAh: http://amzn.to/1WBLi0U
This should even deliver more capacity then the large lead battery.

When I tried to power the MX2 (12 volt) with XTPower 23000 mAh, it only delivered 9 volt (as i could read on the screen), even if the XTP (according to the specifications) should deliver 12 volt. The lights on the MX2 went on and off, and I could not use the XTP to power MX2.

You can change the voltage on the XTPower. Just long press the button then set the desired voltage.
