What does Java have to do with LRTimelapse and do I need it on my MacBook?

Hello. I'm not tech savvy at all so please help me out.

I remember reading something about updating your java to resolve the problem of Lrtimelapse not reading all the keyframes properly. I use an old 13" MacBook Pro (late 2011) running on High Sierra (10.13.6). I typed in "java" in the Terminal and it seems I have nothing installed on my machine. Do I need to install Java on my MacBook?

Thanks

You don't need to care at all about Java. And you don't need to have it installed for LRTimelapse. LRTimelapse will internally use Java, but it won't be installed separately on your system anymore (since many years already).
If you have any issues with LRTimelapse let me know what's happening and we'll find a solution.
