I was having a problem with low memory - the FAQ pointed to Java related issues as the probable cause.
My system runs Window7 Pro (64bit) with 8Gb of memory, checking the Java version in the control panel showed only a 32bit version was loaded to my PC. Loading the 64bit version cleared all my memory related problems.
If you are having similar troubles check your version of Java.
I hope this post may be helpful to anyone having similar problems.
