I currently have LRTL 4 (but am considering an upgrade to 5) can I use ths with any LR version ... I currently have CC but am considering stopping this subscription which I consider to be too expensive and using only standalone lightroom for LRTL but using other software for photo and video editing. Does LRTL work with LR6 as a standalone version?

Of course! LRTimelapse works with any Lightroom version from Lightroom 4 on (LR4, 5, 6, CC Classic).
If I understand right, I can use LRTimelapse only with Lightroom CC Classic. So I would have to buy a version and set it up to use it in parallel to my current version "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Version 4.1", right?

Normally lightroom Classic is included if you have the Adobe cc subscription. You can install it in parallel to Lightroom Desktop, or you just switch totally to Classic, it's much more powerful.
