Has anyone use this Konova KMS S2 slider with Qdslr and the LRT pro timer. I have a D850 ans Z6 that I want to use for timelapses. Not sure how things plug into one another. It would be nice to see the unit prior to buying it to make sure it all talks to each other.
Hi, Frank,
with the Konova KMS S2 slider you cannot use the Pro Timer. To be able to use it, the controller of the slider must be able to be set to slave mode. With the cameras you have, I would take a slider from Black Forest Motion https://blackforestmotion.com/ oder Dynamic Perception https://www.dynamicperception.com/
The Pro Timer could trigger the sliders. Another advantage of these sliders is that you can add a Pan and Tilt axis
Thanks Ralph, Its nice to find out before ordering the slider and having to return it. So the slider has to have the ability to go into slave mode in order to work with my cameras.??
No, the Konova can work with the cameras.
Only if you want the Pro Timer to trigger the slider, the controller (slider) must have a slave mode.
I also think the Konova doesn't have enough payload for your cameras. It's more for small and light equipment!
Ralph I looked at the sliders you recommended and they are not cheap. Iam just starting to work with timelapses so its a very big investment. Thats why I am trying to find a good starter slider and thought that the Konova KMS S2 looked like good starter.
It seems that every slider has its own intervalometer built in . They do not mention a slave slot or how to have external timers move the slider each time a photo is taken.
I will most likly use the Z6 mirrorless as it has a smaller files size and weight.
You get what you pay for, but I understand your argument. There is also no slot for slave mode. This can be set in the software of the controller or as with the NMX by pressing the blue button.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY >>This can be set in the software of the controller or as with the NMX by pressing the blue button.
That you can activate the slave mode in the controllers. With the Pine Controllers you do this in the App and with the NMX of DP by pressing the blue button on the case.
Ralph here is what i have been thinking about. https://blackforestmotion.com/product/sl...is-bundle/ Will this work with the D850 or Z6 using the LRT PRO timer attached to the slider.
Yes ,this will works with the D850 or Z6. It's one of the best sliders for timelapse. It works with your cameras and the Pro Timer. At the Pine R Controller you can activate the slave mode in the app. Then the ProTimer can trigger the slider.
