I shot a long timelapse that I had to split into several parts due to changes in light and camera position. I want to combine them using the composition tool.

Oddly enough I found no documentation on this function.
What does it do?
how does it do it?
how do I use it?
in what situation?
what are the prerequisites?

as search in the website has yielded limited information.
did I miss a documentation page?

Thanks for the help if someone can point me to some basic documentation.
best,
fab.
Compositions will compose a exported timelapse sequence into one image by creating stripes of the single images.
I've explained it in the "What's new Video" for LRT5:

I think what you are looking for is a Video editor, where you could combine different clips, add music etc in order to create a film. That's nothing included in LRTimelapse, you'd need a Video Editing program for this. There are many around - a very good one (also available in a free to use version) is Davinci Resolve, but also Premiere Pro, Magix, Final Cut etc. are options.
I too am trying to find out what this Composition tool is about...the video on youtube on the link above seems to have disappeared and with no obvious help link on LRT program I am a still searching for how to find info
Sorry, here is the correct Link for the video and explanation of the Composition feature: https://youtu.be/8otnw-k5fy4?t=710
