What might be the advantages of using the LRT Pro 2.5 PLUS the Pine R when contrasted with just using the Pine R's intervalometer? TIA!

You have more options with the LRT Pro Timer, for example Interval Ramping.
Also of course, you'll have a very good stand alone intervalometer then, for the cases where you shoot without motion.
