I looked around for solutions to my problem and even bought something on amazon that would power a dummy battery and upconvert the battery pack to ~9V to allow an external pack to power my camera but it didn't work. Didn't want a DIY solution and came across this kickstarter that seems to have an easy and reliable solution https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ars...power-bank

Great, thanks for the link! I saw the DIY Gunther made but didn't see this before. A little pricey but will look to order one if this kickstarter doesn't go through

Hi Puncho, I don't know where you reside but here in the UK I bought Canon ACK-E6 replacement AC Power adapter, it works very well.
