Hi,
with the last MAC OS update Lightroom is no longer able to open catalogs on external drives.
As a workaround, copy the catalog files to the internal drive and you are good.
The issue is known by Adobe and they are working on an update.
Hopethis post will save you some time. seachring the issue again.
