I am preparing to create my first Hyperlapse. This means the camera will be moved large distances by hand which will result in jitter and/or jerky video so I need to stabilize it.

When using AE, do I stabilize the time-lapse sequence consisting of hundreds of images or do I render the time-lapse as a video file and then bring it back into AE to stabilize?

Putting it another way, where in the workflow do I stabilize, do I stabilize the images or stabilize the video?

I am new to Hyperlapse and AE, so don't assume too much.

Youl get the best quality if you take the image sequence into After Effects and stabilize it, but it will take much longer.
So you could as well export with the PRO templates to 3K and stabilize that footage and then export to 1080p.
Just make sure to give Aftereffects more resolution to stabilize than you will export your video in.
