Hi,
I want to connect my D800 via MR3040 to DSLRdashboard on my Samsung S3.
It works with OTG.
I have installed the DslrDashboard 0.30.33
The MR3040 is flashed with the "ddserver_openwrt-tl-mr3040-v2-squashfs-factory_0.12.bin". DDServer is 0.2-12
I can see the MR3040 Wifi connection on a Wifi monitor.

If I try to connect via DslrDashboard I get the message "'Unable to Connect (IO exception)".
It doesn not matter if the cam is connected or not.
I followed a lot of tips here in the forum but no success.

Any idea?

Thanks
Marc
OK, maybe it is possible to localize the problem.

1. I think this is a problem between the MR3040 and the dslrdashboard.
So it doesn't matter if the cam is connected or not
--> Is this correct?

2. I used the newest dslrdashboard android app: DslrDashboard 0.30.33
--> Is there an other app version which I shoud test?

3. I used the newest MR4030 firmware: "ddserver_openwrt-tl-mr3040-v2-squashfs-
factory_0.12.bin"
--> Is there any other firmware I should test?

4. any other hint?

Thanks,
Marc
Yes V0.30.33 is the latest DD version.
Yes V0.12 is the latest ddserver OpenWrt version.
Check in OpenWrt web admin under System->Software that the ddserver package is V0.12

Latest version of ddserver OpenWrt image is here: http://dslrdashboard.info/downloads/

OpenWrt firmware upgrade is documented here: http://dslrdashboard.info/tp-link-mr3040...e-upgrade/

Try the new qDslrDashboard cross platform version.

You must have a camera connected to MR3040 and turned on so that DD or qDD can see it.
After you pair your S3 wireless with the MR3040 wireless check in a S3 web browser that you can access the MR3040 web interface (http://192.168.1.1 by default).
Hello Zoltan,
Thanks for feedback.

No I have a connection!
The problem was the S3: it changed back after a while from the MR3040 WLAN to my local WLAN because of "bad internet connection".

I test it now with my tablet. Here it works.

Thank you Zoltan, great job

This was reported by S4 users to, there is a wireless setting on S4 (I presume on S3 to) that will prevent this but not sure which one (the problem is that after you connect the wireless to MR3040 it will not have internet access and it thinks that it is a bad access point and it disconnects from it).
My S3 runs with 4.3 Jelly Bean.
I have changed the WLAN setting from static to DHCP.
Now the S3 keeps the MR3040 Hotspot (Don't ask me why ...).
So DslrDashboard is working on my S3 too. Cool!

Folks, don't forget to donate to Zoltan for his great work.
