I am a little confused. If I set up the wireless version, can I connect my camera to the router with a regular USB cable, or do I still need an OTG cable.

You need the USB OTG adapter only for Android.

To clarify that: OTG adapter is only needed, when directly connecting the camera via USB to the Android.
If you connect the TPLink Router, only the normal USB cable is needed.
