Full Version: Using software for "autotracking"?

Moin moin,

I am quite unexperienced with timelapse photography but eager to learn...
During last weeks solar eclipse I took a series of about 800 photos (300 mm focal length, 1 shot every 10 seconds, manual tracking every 10 minutes). Accordingly a timelapse of this series would jump between left and right border every few seconds. Does anybody use / is there a software available that automatically aligns / centers a selected region (-> sun) within all photos of the series and so "mimics" an autotracker?
I am quite experienced with Geographic Information Systems. There it is quite common to georeference / align raster data e.g. for mosaicking satellite images or align time series data.
Also a stacking software like fitswork does a pretty similar job...

Thanks in advance for helpful answers.

I think After Effects will be the way to go - but use the tracker, not the Warp-Stabilizer.
Thanks for the swift reply; I will take a look at it!
